Supporting Local Initiatives
Participating in and supporting this annual community-focused event was truly enlightening. It was insightful to hear from Chief Constable Colin Watson and Mayor Ross Siemens about the successes and challenges faced daily, particularly with the rise in police files. To quote Chief Watson, “The issue is a surprising and concerning increase in violent incidents that occurred in September, leading to the formation of an extortion task force.”
Amidst the various challenges they handle every day, including extortion, it was also inspiring to learn about the initiatives being introduced in the Abbotsford community. These include:
